Telangana Congress leaders objects Kiran raising Maoist issue in Core Committee Meet

Congress leaders from Telangana region faults the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy for raising the Maoist issue at the Core Committee Meeting in which he presented a road map.

They faulted him for raising the issue that problem would accentuate the problem of Maoists and other extreme Left parties if a separate Telangana State is formed. Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao said that it has become a habit for the leaders of Seemandhra to bri9ng the issue whenever the issue of bifurcation comes up.

Manda Jagannadham, MP said that Naxalisam took roots in Coastal Andhra and all its leaders were from the area. The Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy at a press conference said that it was not proper to link the naxal issue with the separate Telangana State and there was no truth in the claim that it would increase in the event of formation of smaller states. He said that the Maoist issue should be seen from socio-economic angles and not on the dimensions of the State.
