OUJAC to contest Panchayat Raj elections

Osmania University Joint Action Committee has decided to contest panchayat elections in Telangana and it has already finalized the candidates in Mahabubnagar, Medak and Nalgonda districts.

OUJAC state vice-president Rahim said that they had decided to enter the electoral fray as political parties failed to achieve statehood for Telangana. It may be recalled here that it has announced in the last week the launch of its political platform apparently afer it developed difference with the TRS leadership. He said that the TRS has betrayed students after utilizing their services and do; not want to be fooled again. The OUJAC will contest elections and to begin with, it will field candidates in the ensuring local body polls, said Rahim.

The new political party would be announce its symbol on September 17,and JNU students joint action committee, Delhi will take up the task of seeking recognition of the new political party, said the state vice-president.
