Speaking at a meeting of the Joint Action Committee's steering committee on Tuesday, the TJAC Chairman Prof. Kodandaram expresses doubts over the sincerity of the Congress high command in the creation of a separate Telangana State. He said that if it is sincere, there is no necessity of seeking road maps from the Seemandhra and Telangana regions. He asked ' Why should it need to two separate roadmaps if it is firm on giving separate Telangana?'.

Kodandaram wanted the Congress high command to make a categorical announcement on the statehood issue before the commencement of elections to Panchayat raj bodies.
