'Nothing short of Telangana is acceptable', says Panchayat Raj Minister Jana Reddy

In the back drop of the news that the Centre is considering a package for the development of Telangana, the Congress leaders from Telangana region on Wednesday out rightly rejected the reported offer.

The Congress leaders held a meeting on Wednesday to put pressure on the Centre to announce its decision on the separate Statehood. The leaders vehemently rejected the idea of announcing a package. The Minister for Panchayat Raj K Jana Reddy who is articulating the demand for a separate Telangana on behalf of the Congress leaders from Telangana said that they want only separate Telangana and nothing short of it is acceptable to them. Giving clarification that he is not aspiring to be the Chief Minister of the new State said he would serve as an ordinary party worker.

Ministers DK Aruna and V Sunitha Laxma Reddy said that announcing special package was not a solution to the aspirations of the people and add that 'a separate State is the only answer to the people's struggle. Ponnala Lakshmaiah said that the package coupled with separate State would be acceptable to them.
