The State BJP president G Kishan Reddy addressing a press conference on Wednesday said that the party would intensify agitation for the cause of separate State if the Centre announces a package or a development council.

He charged that the ruling Congress party was again trying to deceive the people. He said that the people were not ready to accept anything short of a separate State and the Congress tried to divert the people's attention when there a crisis in the party or when the movement was at a crucial stage. Kishan Reddy demanded the Congress to honour the Union Minister Chidambaram's promise made on December 9, 2009 and carve out a separate Telangana State with ten districts in the region. He said that the party is opposed to division of Rayalaseema for forming Rayala-Telangna.

Convention of BJP leaders from Thursday

Kishan Reddy said that a convention of BJP leaders from Telangana would be held from Thursday to discuss the future programme and added that the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi would address a 'Yuva Sammelan' at the LB Nagar Stadium on July 27 and a 'Rythu Sadassau' at Rajahmundry in August.
