'We will submit resignations to Sonia Gandhi if demand is not met', says Jana Reddy at Telangana Sadhana Sabha

The Telangana Sadhana Sabha the venue of the Congress leaders from the Telangana region who attended the meet urged the party high command to take an early decision on the issue of carving a separate Telangana State.

The meeting that was organized amid intensified efforts of the party leaders was well attended by the people numbering thousands from the region. The meeting is first of its kind by the Congress leaders to show their strength to the party high command and an attempt to send the message that all the leaders from the party are for the cause of Telangana State.

The Deputy Chief Minister C Damodar Raj Narasimha led a motor bike rally and paid homages to those killed for the cause of Telangana along with other leaders. The meeting began after paying of tributes to those pilgrims killed in the Uttarakhand disaster.

Minister for Panchayat Raj K Jana Reddy addressing the meeting expressed the hope that Congress will definitely announce a separate Telangana State. He said that he would not hesitate to resign and keep from contesting in the next elections, if the Centre did not make an announcement on Telangana issue. He said that 'we will meet the party president Sonia Gandhi and submit out resignations. But, we will work wholeheartedly for the success of the candidates selected by the central leadership. This should convince the high command about our sincere commitment for the cause, he said while addressing the meeting. Minister for Civil Supplies Sridhar Babu said that the party workers had being for the cause for the last sixty years and expressed his confidence that separate Telangana State would be formed under the president ship of Sonia Gandhi. Addressing the meet, Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao said that if the demand for separate State is acceded by the party high command, the Congress party will win 15 out 17 MP seats in the next General Elections. Anjana Kumar Yadav MP from Secunderabad said that Telangana with Hyderabad capital is only acceptable to the people of the region. Union Minister Sarve Satyanarayana addressing the meeting said that Sonia Gandhi will definitely announce separate Telangana in a democratic way and added that only Congress will give and will bring separate Telangana.

Telangana Azad Force created protests

Activists of 'Telangana Azad Force' created a flutter by displaying posters critical of ruling party leaders. Some of the youth displayed handwritten posters asking the Congress party not to cheat the people and stop its drama.

TRS MLA KT Rama Rao lashed out at the Congress leaders

The TRS MLA KT Rama Rao on Sunday in Warangal lashed out at the Congress leaders for organizing a meeting on the issue and described it as 'self-boasting' exercise. He said that the same Congress leaders failed to open their mouth when the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy said he would not give a single rupee to Telangana. He raised a volley of question on them.
