Congress MLCs write to GoM

The Congress MLCs from Telangana has submitted a 11-page memorandum to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana. Releasing the memorandum to the media, the MLCs said that the Article 371(D) should be continued with an amendment adding the name of the new state to the Article. MLCs K Yadava Reddy, K Jagadeeswar Reddy, KR Amos were present at the press conference that was held at the Congress legislature party office in Hyderabad.

Some of the points mentioned in the memorandum are as follows:

Hyderabad should be made a joint capital for a period of three to five years. The Andhra State should identify the location of its capital within the first year and start the processing of building its capital.

Revenue sharing of Hyderabad with Andhra State after bifurcation is opposed. Hyderabad city should be given a grant-in aid of Rs. 10,000 crore a year for 10 years.

GoM should incorporate provision to continue the Legislative Council in Telangana state.

Security Board to be set up with chief secretaries, DGPs, home secretaries of both states and Central government representatives.
