TRS chief rules out merger with Congress

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhara Rao has ruled out his party's merger with the ruling Congress or alliance with any party in the next general elections.

The comments came from the TRS chief when he was speaking at Hyderabad on Monday with the district in-charges of the party and trainers to discuss the issue of conducting another round of training classes of party workers before the elections. His comments gained significance ahead of GoM meeting with political parties on the issues of bifurcation is going on.

Party sources said that the comments were aimed at improving the party's bargaining power if necessary a time when the party is unhappy with the reports of the Centre that inclined to give UT status to Hyderabad. The party is unwilling to share either revenue or administration of the city with the Centre or with the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh.

TRS party leaders Kadiam Srihari N Narasimha Reddy said that the party would not accept any conditions on Hyderabad. Srihari said tht 'Formation of Telangana with 10 districts and Hyderabad as Capital should happen in accordance with the convention. When there were no restrictions on Madras and Bombay during the division of those States, why they are being forced on Hyderabad, he said.
