Andhra Pradesh Election Watch said that there is an 18 per cent increase on the pending criminal cases of Lok Sabha contestants from Telangana since 2009 elections.

State Co-ordinator of Election Watch D Rakesh Reddy said that the increase is due to the candidates' participation in Telangana movement. He said that nearly 135 candidates have not furnished their assets and liabilities. Forum for Good governance vice president Chelikani Rao said that Income Tax authorities have declined to give the information they sought and Central Information Commissioner said that the information cannot be furnished to third parties.
