'TDP-BJP alliance is immoral', says CPI (M) politburo member Brinda Karat

April 27, 2014

Addressing an election rally at Chityal in Nakerkal Assembly constituency in Nalgonda district, politburo member Brinda Karat on Sunday said that the TDP-BJP alliance is immoral.

Brinda Karat recalled TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu's statement in 2002 who had said that their alliance with the BJP was a historical blunder. Brinda Karat sought to know how the TDP chief support his decision now. She appealed to the people to not to vote for TDP-BJP candidates to keep the communal forces away from power which would help in maintaining harmony.

She charged BJP prime ministerial candiadte Narendra Modi of favouring corporate companies by giving away thousands of acres of land confiscated from the poor in Gujarat. Karat said that election of such a person as Prime Minister will sound a death knell for the poor.

Taking digs at the Congress party for involvement in numerous scams over the last decade, she said that it is the time for the voters to dethrone them from power and urged to elect those who can promise corruption-free rule.

Nalgonda Parliament contestant Nandyala Narasimha Reddy, Bhongir parliament contestant Cheruvupalli Sitaramulu and party contestants for Assembly constituencies were present.
