Congress denies tickets to 6 sitting MLAs, family members of nominees

Congress party on Monday has released the list of its nominees to contest the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Telangana. The party has denied tickets to six sitting MLAs and family members of nominees. Among those who were given the boot are controversial leader P Shankar Rao.

The Congress denied tickets to several aspirants who are family members of Congress nominees. Daughter-in-law of TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah Vaishali Reddy was denied Congress ticket. Former home minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy was also denied ticket as Maheswaram constituency was given to CPI following the pre-poll alliance. Her son Kartik Reddy will be making his electoral debut contesting from Chevella Lok Sabha seat.

Sitting MLA Rega Kantha Rao (Pinapaka ST) and Akula Rajender (Malkajgiri), Balu Naik (Devarakonda), B Baji Reddy (Uppal), M Manemma (Musheerabad) were also not retained.
