National Merit Scholarship test on November 2
HYDERABAD: The National Merit Scholarship test will be held on November 2 for the students of 8th standard. The test will be held from 10am to 1pm and the last date for applying the test is September 1, according to Telangana Government examinations director B Manmadha Reddy. Those who secured 55per cent in seventh examination are eligible to apply and SC/ST/PHC students with 50 per cent marks are eligible.

Government constitutes committee on regularization of Contract employees
HYDERABAD: Telangana State Government on Wednesday has constituted a seven member committee to frame guidelines regularization of contract employees. The members of the committee includes Health and Medical, Labour, Education, General Administration, Judiciary and finance department officials. The Government wanted the committee to submit a report within two months.

Centre seeks a report on Integrated Survey
HYDERABAD: The Union Government has asked the State Government an explanation over the proposed survey being undertaken by the State Government on August 19 in the back drop of huge complaints. It may be recalled that the TDP MPs have petitioned the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh saying that the State Government has no right to seek the case and Bank account information and wanted the State Government to furnish the legal validity of the survey.

ACB nabs police constable while accepting bribe
NIZAMABAD: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Wednesday nabbed a special branch constable while he was taking bribe of Rs.5,000 from a complainant in a case.
