Integrated Household Survey begins in the State (live updates)

The Integrated Household Survey -2014 (HIS-2014) begins on Tuesday across Telangana State on a single day with the people living away from their native places rushing back to their villages.

Nearly 3.75 lakh enumerators will visit an estimated 99.41 lakh households in the State including nearly 20 lakh in the GHMC limits.

The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao on Monday reiterated that the survey was meant to list out the socio-economic status of the households for extending necessary welfare schemes to the needy people. It is aimed at identifying leakages in the existing welfare schemes like ration cards, social security pensions, housing, fee reimbursement and others.

An estimated 2,000 RTC buses apart from private vehicles are being hired for carrying enumerators to the allotted villages.

KARIMNAGAR: The locals at Siricilla obstructs the enumerators saying that only assets column was in the sheet and missed of the liabilities. In Ramagundam Corporation limits, there was shortage of enumerators making the rest to face difficulties.

NIZAMABAD: The survey is going on actively in the district and the enumerators are visiting right from 7am to door to door collecting data. The survey is going 922 villages in 718 gram panchayats in 36 mandals in three revenue divisions.

KHAMMAM: Survey began in the district with the participation of 38,000 employees who will conduct survey in 8.1 lakh families.

Cine Actor and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and Congress leader Vijaya Shanti refused to provide information to the enumerators.

Meanwhile, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar said that 30 per cent of the survey was completed in Hyderabad and added of the excellent support from the public. He said that the information was submitted on the survey to the Governor. He said that complaints are being recorded in the GHMC Call centre along with e-mail and SMSes. He said complaints through SMSes can be sent by typing SKS type Division Number-complaint and sms to 9177999876.

Welfare schemes based on survey’, Minister Harish Rao
HYDERABAD: Minister Harish Rao said that the welfare schemes will be based on the report of the survey. He said that the good works being done by Government is interrupted by some persons. The criticism of such persons are left to their wisdom’, he said.
