Hyderabad

Telangana Government has decided to celebrate Independence Day celebrations at the historic Golconda Fort unlike at Parade grounds.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has instructed the Chief Secretary and DGP to visit the Fort on Monday and make arrangements for the celebrations. Chandrasekhara Rao wants the celebrations the first after the formation of the State to reflect Telangana culture and tradition.

Golconda Fort was first build by the Kakatiyas as part of their southern defences and was built in 945 CE-970 CE. In the 16the century, Golconda was made the capital of Qutb Shahi kingdom.
