DoPT finalizes IAS,IPS officers allocation

Department of Personnel and Training release IAS, IPS and IFS allocation

The Department of Personnel and Training on Friday evening released the provisional list of all India Service Officers between the States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States.

The Union Government on Friday finalized the allocation of All India Services officers between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governments following the division of the State in the 13:10 ratio.With the completion, the total authorized strength of IAS officers is 374. There are 294 officers working currently in the State and the allocated is 166 while 128 for Telangana State.The total authorised strength of IPS officers is 256 and 211 are currently working. The Centre allocated 119 IPS officers to Andhra Pradesh and 92 to Telangana State.

The officers will have a fresh window of opportunity for 15 days to indicate whether they would like to shift to the other successor State on the grounds of marriage or any other reason. Those who have been allocated to the same cadre would not be allow the option of swapping based on the ground of marriage. Request for change of cadre on the grounds allowed should be made to the Chairman of the advisory committee by January 10, 2015. The whole exercise of preparation of the final list will be completed within 45 days of the publication of the provisional list.
