TRS moots out 'majority opine' plan in the merger issue

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in an effort to harden the stand on its merger/alliance moved another step in the name of 'majority opinion'.

TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao after meeting the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday in Delhi, party leader B Vinod Kumar who said that 90 per cent of the cadre and leaders are against of moving towards merger in presence of K Chandrasekhara Rao. He went to extent of saying that it is not an issue that is to be finalized overnight and the talks are likely to take place over the next ten to fifteen days.

Key role issue figures

The Wednesday's Congress Core Committee meet, the issue will figure in the meeting. TRS sounded that outright merger will be considered if the TRS chief is given 'key' post in Telangana. It may be recalled that the TRS chief himself has said that the Chief Minister's post should be given to a dalit and in that case, cadre wanted KCR be given a key role in the reconstruction of the newly formed Telangana State.
