'Separate Telangana would be formed before the next general elections', says Digvijay Singh

All India Congress Committee (AICC) general Secretary Digvijay Singh said on Monday in Delhi that separate Telangana State would be formed before the next general elections.

Speaking to media he said that if necessary the Central Government will convene a special session to pass the AP State Reorganization Bill 2013 in Parliament. On the extension of time for the on-going debate on the Bill in the State Assembly will be decided by the President. He said that members can air their views of the people of the region only by participating in the debate, he said.

TRS merger only after the Bill is passed

Responding to a question on the merger of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), he said that he would speak on the issue only once the bifurcation process is completed.

Telangana State will be formed in February, says Marri Sashidar Reddy

Vice-chairman of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Marri Sashidar Reddy said that Andhra Pradesh would be bifurcated in February by convening a special Parliament session. On the increase of seats in the new Sate, he said once a new State is formed, the number of seats would be increased from 119 to 153 to ensure poetical stability. He said that he would take up the issue with the Union Home Minister Shushil Kumar Shinde and AICC president as was happened in Uttarakhand and Haryana were formed, he said.
