Nativity for Scholarships – 1956 may be the cut off year

The Telangana Government is toying the idea of fixing 1956 as the cut off year for deciding the nativity of students for education and other academic purposes.

Official sources said that for extending local status to parents of students, November 1, 1956 the day that Andhra Pradesh came into existence is under consideration. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at a review meeting on Thursday on Fee reimbursement has asked the official to study the Jharkhand experience for implementing in the State. Another view reportedly expressed is that extending the facility is the prerogative of the Government and the examples of neighbouring States need not be taken.

Chandrasekhar Rao also wants to redesign the fee reimbursement scheme giving it a new name and implement it effectively to benefit Telangana Students.
