TRS rejects alliance with Congress

March 15, 2014

Telangana Rashtra Samithi

Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrasekhar Rao ruled out an alliance with Congress in the ensuing elections, which could give advantage to the BJP.

TRS president said that there was no question of any alliance with Congress on the counter that it had denigrated the TRS 'let them come, we will consider' remarks at a press conference on Saturday after a meeting with the representatives of the Party's election Committee. 'Alliance does not make sense as the Congress doesn't believe in a give-and-take approach in its', says KCR.

The claim of AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh at a press conference that the Congress would field its candidates in all 119 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana State will have to test its fortunes in the State.

Chandrasekhara Rao expressed his willingness to have a pact with CPI and MIM that called on the party and added that the objective of the TRS was to form a government of its own in Telangana. Referring to the survey of NDTV that gave 11 MP seats to the party, he said that there was no alternative to TRS in Telangana. Practically, the rejection of alliance with Congress has virtually put the Congress back and lifts BJP.
