Konda Surekha

Former minister Konda Surekha has announced that she will join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party. Surekha and her husband Konda Murali held negotiations with TRS leaders in the last couple of days.

Responding to her joining the TRS party, MLA K Taraka Rama Rao said that Surekha joining the party would strengthen its base in Warangal district. He said that people firmly believe that development of Telangana state is only possible under the leadership of K Chandrasekhar Rao. He predicted that several politicians from other parties would soon join TRS.

Speaking to media at the residence of KCR, Surekha said that KCR is waging a fight for the justice of weaker sections of the society. The re-development of Telangana could only be possible with KCR. She has misunderstood KCR in the past and credited him for the formation of Telangana state. She will officially take the party membership in presence of KCR today. Surekha confirmed that she would be a party worker and would abide by the decision of leadership as to what role she would play.

Meanwhile, TRS in-charge for Warangal East constituency Vidyasagar convened an emergency meeting with party workers. According to sources, a TRS party worker attempted suicide demanding not to allow new entrants into the party at the constituency.
