Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu has met with Telangana TDP leaders to discuss the formation of separate party unit for Telangana. The names of L Ramana and working committee president Errabelli Dayakar Rao are under consideration for the post of TDP president for Telangana. Andhra Pradesh BC Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah may be given the responsibility for campaigning.


TRS MLA T Harish Rao criticized Congress leaders for acting as agents of Seemandhra and ignoring the development and welfare of people of Telangana. Speaking to media at party headquarters in Telangana Bhavan, Harish Rao posed 10 questions relating to Telangana to the Congress leaders.


Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan has set May 15 as deadline to complete the bifurcation process. He has convened a review meeting on its progress. Governor has directed the officials concerned to speed up the process.


Congress leader and MLC Shabbir Ali demanded that Muslims should be allocated at least one constituency in the coming elections. He told the media that he stressed the same point at the Congress screening committee.


Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao will contest Amberpet Assembly constituency if Congress high command asks him to. Speaking to media, Hanumantha Rao said that he would abide by the decision of the leadership whatever it may be. It is known that Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav has offered his support to Hanumantha Rao if the later decides to contest from Amberpet.


Congress senior leader K Jana Reddy reiterated the party's claim that the Telangana state is formed only because of the blessings of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Without Sonia Gandhi's determination, Telangana State could not be formed even for another 20 to 30 years. Speaking to media in New Delhi, Jana Reddy denied rumors of an in fight between party members in the State.


Telugu Desam Party leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao said he would contest from his home constituency of Palakurthi in Warangal district. He condemned the rumors that he is contemplating contesting from another constituency.


Traffic police in Hyderabad has made an arrangement with FM radios in twin cities to provide traffic information to commuters. The arrangement is an attempt by the police to control traffic in the city.


Telangana Congress leaders have left for Delhi today. Telangana PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Suresh Reddy, Geeta Reddy, Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Madhu Goud Yaskhi are among those who left for Delhi. They are likely to apprise the central leadership on their choice of candidates for the upcoming elections.


Jet Airways flight bound to Mumbai from Hyderabad was cancelled due to technical issues.


Traffic restrictions will be in place for the 10k run organized by Bits Pilani tomorrow. Hyderabad city police commissioner Anurag Sharma issued a press statement that they are imposing traffic restrictions to ensure smooth conduct of the run without any trouble to commuters. Restricts will be in force from 6:45 am till 8 am.


AP Backward Classes Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah demanded that all parties in the State should announce a BC candidate for the Chief Minister post. He expressed anguish that the Backward Classes are ignored for representation in politics. He also demanded a sub plan worth Rs. 20,000 crores for BCs.


The Secunderabad - Tandur passenger train would be in service from March 24 onwards. The daily train would leave Secunderabad at 6 pm and would reach Tandur at 9 pm. On return, it would start at 6:15 am at Tandur and would reach Secunderabad at 9 am. The Secunderabad - Tandur train was allocated in the 2013-14 railway budget.
