Sitting MLA Suddala Devaiah joined the Congress party in presence of Digvijay Singh at New Delhi. He is assured of a ticket to contest Choppadandi (SC) Assembly segment. Devaiah is the sitting MLA of the constituency.

Bhongir sitting MP Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy told the media that the Congress central leadership has confirmed his name to contest the coming Lok Sabha elections. Speaking to media, Rajgopal Reddy said that he urged the Congress high command to implement social justice while selecting candidates for Nalgonda constituency. He spoke against nepotism and asked Congress leadership to provide 50% of tickets to BC candidates, Rajgopal Reddy said.

Congress to release first list of candidates after March 30
Congress central leadership is of the view to release the first list of candidates from Telangana region only after 30th of this month. Even though it was initially thought to release the first list tomorrow, the Congress leadership is worried that those who do not receive tickets to contest the coming elections would work against the party in the coming municipal elections. The party has already finalized candidates for 70-80 seats.

Unknown persons have destroyed Dr. BR Ambedkar statue at Anupuram in Vemulavada mandal of Karimnagar district. The villages staged protest condemning the incident. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
