MIM will play the role of King Maker in Telangana government formation

Speaking to media, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao said that TRS would get two-thirds majority and will form the government. There is a clear wave of TRS domination in the polls, he said. Chandrasekhar Rao expressed confidence that TRS would win near 90 seats in the Assembly polls.

Congress express confidence

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah said that Congress would form the government in Telangana without any external support. Former deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarasimha said that the party would get 65 seats. Many leaders feel that Congress may get 35-40 seats while TRS would get 55 seats. Leaders said that in many seats, the YSR Congress Party could play spoiler by splitting votes, even 4,000-5,000 seats would make a difference. These leaders had earlier dismissed the impact of YSRCP, but were surprised by the response received for road shows of Jagan Mohan Reddy and Sharmila.

MIM as kingmaker

In case of hung assembly, MIM has decided to keep its option for a post-alliance with either the Congress or the TRS and will play the role of a king maker in the formation of government. In case of it being a possibility, MIM is confident of retaining its seven seats and is expect to win in three more seats thereby would emerge as a formidable force and play a key role in government formation. MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi said that Muslim are deciding factor in nearly 50 constituencies in Telangana and in view of Modi factor, there was a clear polarisation of Muslim against anti-BJP –TDP alliance.
