Babu Mohan

Babu Mohan is a film actor and a politician. He is a former politician of the Telugu Desam Party. On 23 March 2014, Babu Mohan announced that he would quit TDP to join Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Babu Mohan is likely to be pitched against Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha.


Babu Mohan entered politics in 1999 through Telugu Desam party. He was first elected to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly in 1998 from Andhol Assembly segment in a bye-election. In 1999, he defeated Congress leader Damodar Rajanarasimha. Babu Mohan lost the subsequent elections in 2004 and 2009.

From TDP to TRS

On 23 March 2014, Babu Mohan announced that he would quit Telugu Desam party. According to sources, he will join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Citing humiliation and insults as reason for leaving TDP, Babu Mohan alleged that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu sidelined him and did not consider his name to Rajya Sabha though he is a senior and a Dalit leader in TDP.

2014 Elections

Babu Mohan is the nominee to contest 2014 Andole Assembly Constituency Elections.
