Jupally Krishna Rao
Jupally Krishna Rao is a Politician of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He is a MLA representing Kollapur constituency.
He was a Member of Legislative Assembly and had represented Kollapur district assembly segment in Mahabubnagar district. Krishna Rao served as a minister for Endowments, Former Minister for Food,Civil supplies,Legal Metrology, Consumer affairs in Kiran Kumar Reddy's cabinet. He has tendered his resignation as a minister for the sake of Telangana state on June 1, 2011.
Krishna Rao was born in 1955 at Peddadagada in Veepanagandla mandal. He is a Arts graduate (B.A.). Krishna Rao worked in the revenue department till 1992. He was unanimously elected as the Sarpanch of his village twice. Jupally Krishna Rao later won the Kollapur assembly seat in 1999, 2004 and 2009 Assembly elections.
He was Civil Supplies Minister in YS Rajasekhara Reddy's cabinet and was the Endowments Minister in Kiran Kumar Reddy's cabinet.
Entry to TRS
On October 28, 2011 Jupally Krishna Rao announced that he would quit the Congress party to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party on October 30, 2011. He has refuted allegations of several congress leaders that they have joined TRS for personal gains.
On 28 November 2011, the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar Reddy has accepted his resignation.
2012 By-elections
Jupally Krishna Rao contested the 2012 Kollapur Bye-election and won by a margin of 15,024 votes.
