The 63 TRS members elected to the Assembly are members of the TRS Legislature Party.

The newly elected Telangana MLAs and MPs at a meeting in Hyderabad on May 17, 2014 have unanimously elected K Chandrasekhar Rao as leader of the TRS Legislature Party. Thus, he is all set to become the first Chief Minister of Telangana State as the party has attained a majority in the Assembly. The name of KCR was proposed by Station Ghanpur MLA T Rajaiah who is a dalit. Having a leader from Dalit community propose the name of KCR for the post of TRSLP leader gained significance as the TRS chief prior to elections had promised to make a dalit as the first Chief Minister of Telangana. The proposal was backed by another dalit MLA
