Tatiparthi Jeevan Reddy is a senior Congress politician. He served as Minister for Roads and Buildings from 2007 to 2009. Jeevan Reddy represented Jagtial constituency in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly for five terms.

Personal Profile

Jeevan Reddy was born on May 1, 1952 in Bathikapally village of Pagadapally in Karimnagar district. He studied in the Nizam College in Hyderabad from 1967 to 1971 where he studied Bachelor of Arts. Jeevan Reddy has studied along with former APCC president D Srinivas, K Damodar Reddy and Govind Naik. He later pursued Law at the Osmania University.

Jeevan Reddy is married to Ahalya Devi and the couple has three sons - Ram Chandra Reddy, Bala Krishna Reddy and Chandra Krishna Reddy.

Political Career

After finishing his Law, Jeevan Reddy entered politics and has won from the Jagtial constituency as a Member of Legislative Assembly in 1983. He has won the subsequent elections for five consecutive times, before losing to TRS leader K Chandrasekhar Rao in the elections for Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat. He was later inducted into Rajasekhara Reddy's cabinet and was given Roads and Buildings portfolio on April 26, 2007. He later lost to TDP candidate L Ramana in the 2009 Assembly elections.
