VK Duggal meets Chief Minister K Rosaiah

VK Duggal, member-secretary of the Srikrishna Committee visited the Jubilee Hall as part of his scouting for suitable premises for the committee to hold its sittings. He later met the Chief Minister, K Rosaiah in his Chambers in the adjoining Legislative Council and told him the opinions of all stakeholders and that it had no bias towards any region.

Sharing this information in the House, Rosaiah said the committee would be here on March 4 & 5. He turned down the proposal of Leader of Opposition D Veerabhadra Rao to request Committee on their behalf to extend the time to submit opinions by one month as members were busy with the legislature sessions. He said that he will not submit a representation to the committee as there others who want to the time to be reduced. Let the members should respect the time given by the committee. Dadi Veerabhadra Rao said he would give a representation directly to the Committee.

D Rami Reddy urged the government to give a white paper with data pertaining to various sectors and regions so that they could quote in their representation to the Committee. Appealing to students to cooperate with the Srikrishna Committee that had commenced work, Rosaiah said sacrificing lives would serve no purpose. Chairman A Chakrapani later announced that the House unanimously approved the appeal made by the Chief Minister to the students.
