Lok Satta Party says peaceful discussions only way forward for Telangana

The Lok Satta Party president Jayaprakash Narayan has welcomed the beginning of the consultation process for resolution of the Telanagana tangle initiated by the Centre and appealed to all the parties to stop indulging in the competitive disruption of life and help restore normalcy to take the discussions forward. Speaking to media persons on Tuesday, he said that the governance in the State and slackened in many fields and if there was no change in the situation, it would lead to a constitutional break down.

JP regretted that political parties were only taking to gain backing of people in one particular region without promoting a healthy discussion on their real concerns. The Lok Satta would soon tour all regions once tempers cool down to talk to people about their genuine grievances. He said that the State was divided or kept united, no one region or group would walk away with all its desires fulfilled in a democratic set up.

JP said that media organizations which also contributed for escalating the crisis should show restraint and stop treating politics as a cricket match or suspense thriller. He called upon every political party or group to turn the present crisis into an opportunity by working towards empowering local bodies to address demands of people at the panchayat, municipality and district level.
