TDP Telangana Unit on cards
If reports are to believed, it seems the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is making movies to setup a separate unit that works to cater to the Telangana region. The media is reporting that TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu has chosen Devender Goud to head the Telangana face of the TDP.
The name of the unit would be Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TTDP) or Telangana Desam Party (TDP) and will have a five-member co-ordination committee. Senior TDP members Nagam Janardhan Reddy, E Dayakar Rao, M Narasimhulu, L Ramana and Ramesh Rathod would be part of the group.
An interesting twist to this is that the agitating TDP MLAs from the Telangana region who are lobbying by staying away from the party wants the TDP to stop its move to form a Telananga unit. They instead want the Union Government to initiate the action towards making a separate Telangana state.
