TDP leadership strips TTDP working president Revanth Reddy of party posts

In another development, the Telugu Desam Party leadership has decided to strip its working president and MLA A.Revanth Reddy of his twin posts for violating party discipline.

TDP-TS president L.Ramana has said that the decision has been taken after consultation with the party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu. This follows mounting pressure on the party leadership to suspend Revanth Reddy for indulging in ‘anti-party activities’ like meeting Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi without obtaining prior permission from the party.

Meanwhile TTDP president has reportedly warned the party leaders against attending the legislature party meeting convened by Revanth Reddy in the legislative Assembly premises on Thursday. Revanth Reddy has convened the meeting to discuss the strategy the party should adopt in the forthcoming session of the legislature starting October 27 and invited senior leaders, including former Ministers and MLAs to the meeting.

The TDP-TS president had convened a separate meeting of the legislature party in a star hotel the same day and directed the leaders to attend the meeting. Party leaders are waiting the response of Revanth Reddy to the invitation extended to him to attend the legislature party meeting as party MLA even as sources said communication regarding sacking of Revanth from the posts or the invite to attend the meeting was yet to be received.
